URL (uniform resource locator) is the full address that can be found in the address bar when visiting a website.

E.g http://www.traders.ukplc.net/forum_topics.asp?FID=5

The domain name would just be http://www.traders.ukplc.net

The registered domain name would be traders.ukplc.net
